A STORY FOR EVERYONE

Noah and the Cloud Kite

October 27, 2026 · Pencil storybook

Cloud Kite coloring book drawing

One sunny afternoon, Noah found a beautiful kite caught in the branches of a tree.

It was unlike any kite in the neighborhood. Its paper shimmered like the sky after rain, its tail was made of silver ribbons, and a golden star gleamed at its center.

When Noah gently freed it, a tiny note fluttered to the grass.

It said: “For Noah. When the wind calls, hold tight and be brave.”

A breeze swirled through the garden. The kite tugged once, then twice—and suddenly it lifted Noah above the grass!

Up, up, up they sailed, past the rooftops and into the fluffy white clouds.

“Wow!” Noah laughed.

In the sky, clouds formed castles, bridges, and enormous soft animals. But then came a little sniffle from behind a cloud shaped like a teapot.

There sat a small cloud creature wearing tiny blue boots.

“Hello,” said Noah. “What's wrong?”

“I'm Misty,” the creature replied. “The Wind Bell is missing. Without it, the clouds cannot find their places. Everything is getting tangled!”

Sure enough, a cloud sheep was stuck in a cloud ship, and a cloud bridge had twisted into a knot.

“I'll help you find it,” Noah said.

The golden star on the kite began to glow, pointing like an arrow. Noah and Misty followed it past the Rainbow Arch and across a bouncy trail of little clouds.

At last they reached a dark gray cloud that was grumbling to itself. Something silver flashed deep inside it.

“The Wind Bell!” whispered Misty.

The gray cloud gave a sad rumble. “Everyone says I'm too stormy to sing with them. So I kept the bell for myself.”

Noah thought carefully. “That sounds lonely. But without the bell, your friends are getting lost. Could you help us instead?”

“Me?” asked the gray cloud.

“You have a wonderful strong breeze,” said Noah. “You might be the very best one to ring it!”

The gray cloud brightened. Slowly it opened, revealing a little silver bell.

Ding-ling! Ding-ling!

The gentle ringing floated across the sky. The cloud sheep drifted free. The cloud ship sailed away. The tangled bridge straightened out.

Misty clapped her tiny hands. “You did it!”

The gray cloud smiled. “I suppose I do belong here.”

“You always did,” Noah said.

Misty gave Noah a cloud-shaped charm on a golden string. “For listening, helping, and making someone feel welcome.”

Then the kite pulled gently toward home. Noah waved goodbye as the wind carried the kite down through the blue sky and into the garden.

That evening, the little charm sat on the bedside table. Outside the window, a friendly gray cloud floated beside the others.

If Noah listened very carefully, the breeze seemed to whisper:

Ding-ling. Ding-ling.

The End.

Story lesson: When we listen with kindness, we can help others feel they belong.
